- Based on the Asta-Ja Framework and the current socio-economic and environmental challenges in the country, Professor Durga D. Poudel, the Founder of the Asta-Ja Framework, founded Nepal Vision 2040 for accelerated economic growth and fast-paced socio-economic transformation of Nepal. Nepal Vision 2040 envisions developing Nepal to the level of developed nations by 2040 AD. In other words, the Nepal Vision 2040 envisions raising Nepal's GDP per capita to US$ $15,000 by 2040. The nine strategies of Nepal Vision 2040 include,
- Food self-sufficiency,
- Reliance on renewable resource energy,
- Thirty million tourists annually,
- Export of organic foods, medicinal and aromatic plants, and other products,
- Corruption control,
- Infrastructure development,
- Community resiliency,
- Social services, and
- Asta-Ja conservation, development, and utilization.
- Nepal Vision 2040 envisions a transformed nation—prosperous, inclusive, and sovereign—built upon the strategic foundation of the Asta-Ja framework, competitive advantage, and innovative or smart Asta-Ja businesses. This vision is rooted in empowering citizens through world-class education, cutting-edge technology, and robust democratic institutions. A competent, ethical, and innovative workforce will be the engine of this transformation, leading advancements in agriculture, clean energy, infrastructure, industry, and digital economy. Nepal will emerge as a regional model of ecological balance, cultural pride, and economic resilience, with decentralized governance ensuring that prosperity reaches every village and valley.
- While enhancing self-reliant economic development, Nepal Vision 2040 gives high priority to export-led growth on a competitive basis. Selected export commodities are produced in a competitive and environmentally sound way. It is important to incorporate these strategies in all governmental plans and national initiatives. Nepal Vision 2040 must be the national developmental agenda of the country.
- Nepal Vision 20240 gives high priority to the development of Janashakti (human resources). To prepare the Nepalese society for the fourth industrial revolution, Asta-Ja intends to bring vast research and development opportunities to Nepal in the areas of AI, BigData, 3-D Printing, nanotechnology, biotechnology, and other cutting-edge technologies and disciplines.
- Nepal Vision 2040 is a call to action—for unity, bold leadership, and unwavering commitment to a just and self-reliant future for all Nepalis.
